John Curtis is an artist born in Bristol (1976), He studied Art, Design and Illustration at Brunel College of Art in Bristol, and studied creative advertising at Falmouth College in Cornwall.

He has been painting and drawing ever since he could hold a paint brush or pencil and has a passion for art. John produces artwork on commission and for exhibitions and his work is best described as abstract expressionism, which represents his moods, feelings and experiences, his style is energetic and highly detailed, and demands a closer look.

He is inspired by his surroundings, with anything from science to nature and strong influences of modern art, pop art, graffiti and street art can be seen in his work.

John uses various mediums such as acrylic paint, oil paint, enamel and spray paint as well as introducing letraset and metalics into his artwork, he experiments with colours and textures on canvas to produce unique abstract pieces.

He also works on large scale highly detailed illustrations in ink and pencil, and John incorporates these drawings and ideas into his finished artwork.

John has sold 120 pieces since 2002 and continues to produce artwork regularly and accept commissions.
